‘An Ecological Understanding of Dragon Symbolism in Myth and Folklore.’
A comparative study of etymology and alchemical symbols relating to forms of the dragon as a deep rooted ecological composite relating to how water and fire have shaped the landscape.
This essay was inspired by a walk though an ancient forest in South Yorkshire, toward a rocky outcrop with a folkloric character, and aims to introduce the concept of the ‘Rhizolith’ as a naturally occuring artefact of anthropology.
