Olmec iconography and its influence in Mesoamerica’
A short essay on the history of La Venta, thought to be one of the earliest cities in Mesoamerica, and a region of the Olmec mother culture - the first civilisation of Mesoamerica.
This essay offers a general context to the Olmec culture, as well as a reinterpretation of their most well known sculptured figures - known as the Were-Jaguars or Olmec Babies, which may relate to ideas of trans-speciesism during the developmental stages of human evolution.
